He will next play Ramachandran Satheishtharan of the hosts. Minh beat Satheishtharan  二 一- 一 三,  二 一- 一 四 at the Kawasaki Vietnam International Series in September.

Vietnamese female player Vũ Thị Trang also succeeded yesterday, beating Rusydina Antardayu Riodingin of Indonesia  二 一- 一 四,  一 六- 二 一,  二 一- 一 五.
