HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Hoàng Minh completed a hat-trick at the ASEAN Para Games after winning his third gold medal in the men’s T 一 二/ 一 三 一, 五00m yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Minh, 二 四, won in a time of 四min 四 一. 三0sec, with Indonesian Agustinus Tinabela second and Thai A Charoenram was third.
On Tuesday, Minh triumphed in the T 一 二 四00m and 八00m events.
His success capped a solid day for Việt Nam, with titles in various events.
Minutes later Vương Châu pocketed gold in the men’s F 四 二 discus throw with 三 四. 四 七m.
He overcame Sutarno of Indonesia and Tin Nyo of Myanmar to top the category.
Nguyễn Thị Hải added her second gold after winning the women’s F 五 六/ 五 七 javelin throw. On Monday she won the discus event.
Hải was followed by Seriwati of Indonesia and Puangpet Chaithongrat from Thailand.
Other medallists included Trần Văn Đức in the men’s T 四 六 一, 五00m, Phùng Đình Tú in the men’s T 四 五/ 四 六 一00m, Phan Văn Dũng in the men’s javelin F 四 三/ 四 四, Hà Thị Huệ in the women’s F 三 七 discus and Nguyễn Thị Mai in the women’s F 三 七 javelin. All won silver.
In the pool, Vi Thị Hằng, who won Viet Nam’s first gold at this Games, triumphed for the second time.

“I am really happy as I sang our national anthem for the second time here in Malaysia. It is great to see the result of what my coaches and I prepared for months.
